How to Fabricate Foot Scrubs for Friends

I’m learning quickly, my kiddos absolutely love and adore activities! From 6 months old to 2 years old, they just can’t get enough! In Week 3 of our Proverbs study for Preschoolers, we learned God’s Men and Women are eager beavers that eagerly participate and work diligently at their tasks. Because weaving was so important in the Bible, we wove a basket. Now we are preparing our basket to be given to a very special someone when we complete it (but we haven’t picked who quite yet 😉 ).

Ewwww, feet. I absolutely hate and despise feet. They are disgusting. Don’t touch me with yours.  But, if Jesus could wash someone’s feet for them, I’m afraid it’s time I make a mixture for someone to pamper theirs with! So….. today we added four totally awesome homemade (disgusting) foot scrubs to add to our basket of gifts.

My 6 month old enjoyed his hands in a small pie tin playing in the sticky sugar. I’m actually super happy for him, as getting his hands to move and engage can prove to be rather daunting at times. To my enjoyment, he loved the texture and was quite pleased with himself… although afterward, I rather hated my sticky soggy thighs and promptly jumped into a hot shower. My 2-1/2 year old enjoyed mixing and stirring. She wasn’t as happy getting her hands in it, so she crafted the perfect area for stirring the sticky slop.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbps extra virgin olive oil or vit. e oil
  • Liquid coconut oil to consistancy
  • 2 EO’s per jar totaling 14 drops per jar

The coolest part? We recycled! (which will be more important when we run our “recycling craft” campaign in the future!) We used old baby food jars and covered the lids with decoration to make them “presentable!” All of the decorations, fabrics and ribbons? Leftovers from a quiet activity book I made Kara a few months ago (blogs, patterns, and pictures to come in the future as well 😉 ).
