Week 16: Proverbs 31: 27: How to Help Preschoolers Resist Laziness

 To be idle means to spend time doing nothing. Godly women do not do this. But, how can we teach our children not to when TV and iPads are so popular. They are everywhere! We exercise. We exercise with our babies (we will be talking about this in the future!) We play. && when we play we were on every category of development – from fine motor and tinkering with our fingers to gross motor running around the wide open fields. There are times that

Social Network Limiter is a free (or paid) app for iPhones and others that allows you to program Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr to be completely inaccessible during times of the day.  When I found this app, I only programmed it from 4pm-7pm. It almost killed me the first few days. But how awakening to see how often I check facebook! You never know what you have till it’s gone!

Parents & Preschoolers Who Resist Idleness


 

 

Now, 2-1/2 months later, I’ve increased the time from 12pm-6pm. My children nap from 2-4, and I can always check Facebook from my computer if I need something important. Otherwise, it breaks the habit of idleness.

And that is what we must tackle to become women God wants us to be; to model who God wants us to be for our children.


God is gracious; because of His Grace, we live! Romans tell us that the same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in each of us . I said last week that I am encouraged and drawn to teach my 2-1/2 year old daughter that nothing she ever does will make Jesus not love her. True fact! However, we can always do more to please Him, act more like he wants us to act.

 

MONDAY:

  • Grandpa Craft: For us, on a long sheet of paper, I traced Kara’s arms, and then traced Noah’s on top of that. Actually, we ended up taping paper together because we didn’t have any long enough! It was sending a hug!!! The backsides of the sheets were coloring pages from her Tinkerbell book, so we spent quite a bit of time coloring, too 🙂

  • Bake Dog Cookies for Our Pets

WEDNESDAY:

THURSDAY:

  • Toy Rotation and Detail Clean Up

FRIDAY:

  • Choose Some Stuffed Animals to Donate
